How Liberty Property Trust Sells Millennial Companies on Suburban Spaces

Liberty Property Trust, a Philadelphia-based real estate investment trust, needed a way to attract and retain tenants in its suburban office park by offering a compelling food amenity. The company wanted to provide hot, convenient lunch options without spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to build and subsidize a traditional cafeteria, so it looked for a lower-risk alternative from Fooda.

Fooda implemented a multipurpose dining space with a daily rotation of guest restaurants serving lunch between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The solution avoided an estimated $300,000 cafeteria expense, kept the space available for other uses outside lunch hours, and preserved thousands of square feet for rentable office space. The program also reduced off-campus lunch trips for tenants’ employees and created enough buzz that a nearby office building adopted Fooda as well.
