Stewart Foodservice, a $50M regional food distributor led by Aubrey MacMillan, faced the challenge of scaling customer-centric operations to support further growth while freeing field sales to pursue new business. Since 1997 they worked with Food Decision Software and upgraded their 25-user WinFDS system to WinFDS version 5.0 to modernize order handling and purchasing processes.

Food Decision Software implemented the WinFDS upgrade and integrations — expanding to seven WinFDS order desks, deploying WinFDS purchasing, and tying in a telephone management system plus GPS delivery tracking — to give order desk staff real-time delivery visibility and more efficient workflows. The result: Stewart maintained a >98% fill rate, noticeably improved customer service, and enabled field sales to focus on growth, supporting increased sales momentum.
