Northstone, a national house builder within the Peel Group, needed a robust way to take, store and review the photographic evidence required by Approved Document L 2021 as it scaled its operations. Internal processes weren’t going to be sufficient, so Northstone chose Fonn’s mobile document-management solution to provide a single, easy-to-use system for capturing and tracking photos, RFIs and site information.

Fonn delivered a single source of truth via its app—photos are tagged with plot/item, time and author, and a clear chain of responsibility is enforced—making onboarding straightforward (site teams were using the app within minutes). After around three months of use, Northstone reported faster, real-time issue detection and resolution that saved time and cost, reduced rework, improved build quality (notably cleaner substructure cavities), and secure centralised document storage as they scale.
