The Federal Employment Agency faced fragmented, error-prone documentation for its nationwide IT estate — including 230 central UNIX servers, 8,000 Windows servers and 1,800 Linux servers — and needed to consolidate data center planning and administration that had grown into more than 1,000 inconsistent files. To improve data quality, access control and support Green‑IT initiatives, the agency selected FNT Software and its FNT Command resource management solution via a public tender.

FNT Software implemented the solution by training 120 BA users, mapping the central DC rooms true‑to‑scale, importing detailed data for 540 server racks (servers, network components, storage, power and climate equipment) and integrating with the BA CMDB and IPAMS; the project was handed over on schedule (30 Nov 2011). As a result, the Federal Employment Agency now has a single authoritative platform for planning and documentation, can trace power to distribution cabinets and fuses, run what‑if placement scenarios, speed fault diagnosis and produce reports to quantify Green‑IT gains.
