A FMX Case Study
The Mississippi School for the Blind (founded 1848) and the Mississippi School for the Deaf (founded 1854) educate and support deaf and blind students toward personal excellence. They struggled with paper-based preventive maintenance and event scheduling, a CMMS that only handled basic maintenance, and difficulty tracking historical work orders, equipment logs, and detailed transportation needs (sack lunches, chaperones, medications), which led to tasks falling through the cracks.
By implementing FMX, MSBD centralized transportation and facility scheduling, preventative maintenance, and work-order tracking in one user-friendly system. Custom fields and calendar views improved safety documentation and visibility, approval paths and dashboards balanced staff workloads, and notifications kept teams informed — delivering immediate adoption, better organization, and enhanced student safety.
