West Vancouver School District, the longest-running international K-12 school district in British Columbia, needed a better way to handle tuition and application payments for its roughly 450 international students. Before working with Flywire, international payments were still processed largely by wire transfer and manually matched to student accounts, creating heavy administrative work, reconciliation issues, and dependence on a single staff member.

Flywire implemented an integrated payment solution connected to the district’s TrueNorth student information system, allowing families to pay online in their local currency while the district automatically receives and settles funds in CAD. The result was faster, more accurate payment tracking, simpler reconciliation, improved staff onboarding, and increased collection of application fees, while also reducing the burden on staff through multilingual payer support.
