Wayne State University, one of the 50 largest public universities in the U.S., needed a better way to manage the highly manual and time-consuming process of collecting past-due tuition. With Flywire, Wayne State automated collector workflows, payment plan administration, and student communication around overdue bills. Since 2019, Flywire has helped the university collect $5.94 million in past-due tuition, including $1.9 million since the start of the 2022-2023 academic year, while more than 55% of students who fell behind are now back in good standing. Wayne State also estimates Flywire is saving $205,668 per year in collection costs, for a total of $1.7 million saved since implementation.
