Bavovna AI achieves 99.98% GPS-free drone navigation with Flyaps

Bavovna AI, a tech startup developing AI-driven navigation systems for drones, faced the challenge of building a reliable GPS-free navigation solution for UAVs operating in electronically contested environments. They partnered with Flyaps to turn their theoretical documentation into a working system and to automate their slow, manual process of collecting flight telemetry data for AI model training.

Flyaps developed a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) model and built a scalable MLOps infrastructure to automate data collection and model retraining. They validated the navigation logic in a simulator before successful live flight tests. As a result, Bavovna AI's system achieved 99.98% accuracy in a live demo, autonomously completing a 7.8 km mission without GPS. Flyaps' work contributed to the startup raising $2.7 million in seed funding and winning a Military Tech Unicorn Battle.
