Titan Mining maps old workings in 15 hours with Flyability

The customer, Titan Mining, faced the challenge of surveying the hazardous and inaccessible historic old workings at its Empire State Mine. These tunnels, some dating to the 1930s, presented significant risks including potential collapse and unknown conditions, and were too confined for traditional surveying methods. To update its records and ensure operational safety, Titan Mining employed Flyability and its Elios 3 drone to safely collect accurate data.

Flyability's solution was the Elios 3, a collision-tolerant drone that operates without GPS and in spaces as small as 60x60 cm. It replaced a system requiring nine times more space. In just 15 hours of flight time, Flyability's drone safely captured visual and LiDAR data to create a comprehensive 3D model. This provided Titan Mining with unprecedented detail and accuracy, revealing the tunnels were in excellent condition and unlocking new data that could inform future mining plans while keeping personnel completely out of harm's way.
