TEXO cuts FPSO oil tank inspections to 4 days with Flyability

TEXO, an inspection expert in the oil and gas industry, was challenged with performing a mandatory inspection on oil tanks within a Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading vessel (FPSO). Traditional methods using rope access teams were dangerous, time-consuming, and costly, requiring up to five technicians and causing significant production downtime while tanks were emptied and prepared.

Flyability's Elios 3 drone was implemented as the solution, allowing TEXO to inspect the tanks with a team of only two people. The pilot remained safely outside the confined space while the drone captured data to create detailed 3D point clouds. Flyability's solution reduced the inspection time from up to two weeks to just four days, drastically cutting labor costs and production losses. The client received more reliable data and expressed interest in further use of the Elios 3 for future inspections.
