A Flyability Case Study
Returkraft, a waste-to-energy plant in Norway, faced the challenging and time-consuming task of inspecting its boilers. Traditional methods required extensive scaffolding and confined space entry, taking up to 300 hours and costing 450,000 Euros. They turned to Flyability and its Elios 3 drone equipped with an ultrasonic thickness (UT) payload to find a safer and more efficient solution.
By implementing the Elios 3 drone from Flyability, inspectors could remotely gather visual data and UT measurements without the need for scaffolding or confined space entry. The solution drastically reduced inspection time from 300 hours to just 8 hours, achieving time savings of 450,000 Euros. It also improved safety and provided high-quality, localized data within a 3D model.
