The customer, MaDfly, a maritime drone service provider, faced the challenge of inspecting the inert methanol fuel tanks of a container ship. Traditional methods required risky human entry, extensive tank cleaning, and caused significant downtime. Flyability provided its Elios 3 UT drone and Tether Power Unit to enable a remote inspection.

Flyability's solution allowed MaDfly to inspect the tanks remotely from the ship's deck without any human entry or the need to gas-free the vessel. The full inspection was completed in under two hours, collecting all required visual and ultrasonic thickness measurement data, which was validated by classification society surveyors. This resulted in a major safety improvement by eliminating confined space entry and drastically reducing operational downtime.
