Ingenieursbureau Klink BV completes 84 tank thickness measurements with Flyability

Ingenieursbureau Klink BV, an inspection company specializing in industrial assets, faced the challenge of inspecting a stainless steel tank without the costly and hazardous process of emptying and cleaning it for human entry. They partnered with vendor Flyability and utilized the Elios 3 drone equipped with an ultrasonic thickness (UT) payload to overcome these access and safety constraints.

The solution implemented by Flyability involved flying the Elios 3 drone into the confined double wall of the full tank to collect ultrasonic thickness measurements. This approach completely eliminated the need for human entry, scaffolding, or tank emptying. Flyability's solution enabled the safe collection of 84 precise measurements, which were localized within a digital 3D model for future comparison, drastically improving inspection speed and efficiency for the client.
