Integrity Networks cuts fiber testing time nearly in half with Fluke Networks

Integrity Networks, a technology company specializing in network infrastructure, faced a severe challenge while working for an energy company on Alaska's North Slope. They needed to bi-directionally test over 1,400 fiber links in a harsh environment with dangerous wildlife and extreme winter weather, where repeatedly walking between distant buildings to move test equipment was risky and time-consuming. Fluke Networks provided a solution using the OptiFiber Pro OTDR with its SmartLoop feature.

The implementation of Fluke Networks' SmartLoop technology allowed technicians to perform the required bi-directional testing from a single location. This eliminated the need for dangerous trips between buildings, cutting the total testing time nearly in half on the first major use. According to the customer, the time savings on that single job easily paid for the cost of the Fluke Networks tester, while also significantly improving worker safety and onsite reporting efficiency.
