A Fluke Networks Case Study
Integrity Networks’ Alaska branch, a communications and low-voltage contracting arm of Integrity Networks, serves government and commercial projects across Alaska’s harsh environments. When tasked with bi-directionally testing more than 1,400 fiber links on the North Slope during winter, the team faced extreme cold, blizzards and wildlife risks that made repeatedly walking between distant buildings both time-consuming and dangerous.
Using Fluke Networks’ OptiFiber Pro with SmartLoop™, technicians completed accurate bi-directional testing without carrying the OTDR to the far end, cutting test time by nearly half and minimizing exposure to weather and wildlife. SmartLoop automatically calculates average bi-directional loss, provides simple pass/fail results, and enables instant on-site reporting—yielding faster fault resolution and cost savings that paid for the tester on the first job.
