SAS sees soaring benefits from digitized flight operations

SAS, Scandinavia’s leading airline, needed a better way to handle flight plans and flight operations forms after its existing software could not support annotation, time and fuel checks, or simple storage of flown plans for the required three-month archive period. Pilots were also dealing with multi-step manual paper processes across fragmented systems.

Fluix, then known as PDF Expert Enterprise, was used to connect flight operations forms and later flight plans into 28 automated workflows. The system lets pilots annotate eOFPs offline, submit them digitally, and store them securely, while back-office teams can track submissions and file completed documents automatically; SAS reports 1,561 users, 30K completed documents per year, and about 2M pages of paper saved per year.
