Case Study: Qlik Talend achieves consistent metadata-driven documentation with Fluid Topics

A Fluid Topics Case Study

Preview of the Qlik Talend Case Study

Talend delivers consistent documentation through metadata-driven publishing

Qlik Talend is a global software vendor of data integration and integrity solutions serving technical users, business users, and data scientists. Its Confluence-based documentation system had become too slow and rigid: publishing even a small update could take 48 hours and require IT support, while users had to click through multiple pages and couldn’t search effectively across sources. The company needed a more flexible way to deliver highly contextual, metadata-driven documentation.

Using Fluid Topics, Qlik Talend launched a new documentation portal that natively supports DITA and integrates in real time with external taxonomies via RDF/XML. The platform centralizes metadata, enables advanced faceted search, and aggregates legacy DocBook, DITA, Markdown, HTML, knowledge base articles, and community forums in one multilingual portal. Talend went live in less than six months, with no disruption for documentation consumers, and gained consistent, scalable access to all content through the same portal.
