Case Study: Silesian University improves network visibility and anomaly detection with Flowmon Networks

A Flowmon Networks Case Study

Preview of the Silesian University Case Study

Silesian University - Customer Case Study

Silesian University, a university and science research institution in the Czech Republic, needed better visibility and control across a network spread over six locations in two towns, with hundreds of employees, thousands of student devices, and separate internet access at different sites. The university also wanted a simple, intuitive way to monitor the network and enforce university policies. Flowmon Networks addressed this need with network monitoring tools, including Flowmon probes and Flowmon ADS.

Flowmon Networks deployed two Flowmon probes—one Flowmon Probe 2000 in Karvina and one Flowmon Probe 4000 at the university headquarters—to export NetFlow data to a virtual collector, where Flowmon Monitoring Center and Flowmon ADS were used for continuous monitoring and automated anomaly detection. The result was much greater visibility across the distributed infrastructure, faster problem resolution, and automatic alerts for operational and security issues, helping Silesian University simplify network administration and improve CIT efficiency at an affordable price for the academic environment.
