Masaryk University secures 10 Gbps network monitoring with Flowmon Networks and 25 probes

Masaryk University, the second-largest public university in the Czech Republic, required reliable network monitoring and security anomaly detection for its extensive and geographically dispersed IT infrastructure across the city of Brno. To address this challenge, the university's CSIRT team deployed a solution from Flowmon Networks utilizing Flowmon Probes, Flowmon Collectors, and Flowmon ADS.

The solution implemented by Flowmon Networks involved deploying 25 Flowmon Probes at critical network points and storing traffic statistics across six collectors with a total capacity of 40TB for redundancy. Flowmon ADS automatically processes traffic to detect security events and policy violations, which are then reported to the team's incident handling system. This provided Masaryk University with outstanding network visibility, automated CSIRT task automation, and a reliable cornerstone for its security monitoring operations.
