Masaryk University, the second-largest public university in the Czech Republic, needed stronger network visibility, security assurance, and incident-handling capabilities across a large, distributed environment with 40,000+ students, 5,000+ employees, and dozens of locations. To support its IT and CSIRT operations, the university worked with Flowmon Networks and its network monitoring and security analytics products.

Flowmon Networks implemented Flowmon Probes, Flowmon Collectors, and Flowmon ADS to monitor critical network points, store traffic statistics with redundancy, and automatically detect security incidents and policy violations. The solution also automated incident reporting into the university’s Request Tracker system, delivering outstanding visibility and reporting, improved security oversight, and streamlined CSIRT processes, while supporting research and education use cases.
