Equinix, a global datacenter and hosting provider, needed stronger DDoS protection across its backbone and customer services as attack volumes and methods continued to evolve. Existing defenses covered IPv4, but Equinix also required a reliable way to detect and mitigate attacks on IPv6; it worked with Flowmon Networks using Flowmon Collector 2000 VA and Flowmon DDoS Defender 40.

Flowmon Networks deployed its solution on Equinix’s critical Netherlands datacenter backbone, where it detects IPv6 attacks with built-in AI and automatically orchestrates mitigation, including traffic diversion to an out-of-path scrubbing center. The result was fast, reliable DDoS detection and flexible mitigation orchestration, helping Equinix improve protection while supporting its goal of reaching top business markets within 10 milliseconds.
