ČD Telematika, a major telecommunications and ICT provider in the Czech Republic, needed a way to monitor its extensive nationwide data network and meet EU Data Retention Directive requirements. The company also wanted better visibility into network security threats across its infrastructure. Flowmon Networks was selected to help address these needs with Flowmon Probe and Flowmon Collector.

Flowmon Networks deployed a lossless monitoring solution for upstream and downstream transit lines, along with long-term traffic storage using Flowmon Collector with 32 TB capacity for data retention. The setup was later extended with Flowmon ADS for automated threat and anomaly detection, enabling ČD Telematika to identify infected customer machines and generate security reports for customers. The result was real-time monitoring, compliance support, and improved security for a network handling tens of gigabits per second and 2.5 million packets per second.
