AVE CZ, a major waste management company in the Czech Republic and part of the Austrian AVE group, needed better visibility across its headquarters, data center, and 50 branch LANs. Its small IT team found that SNMP-based monitoring did not provide enough detail about traffic structure, active services, or individual communications, making network management and security difficult. AVE CZ turned to Flowmon Networks and its Flowmon Collector for deeper network insight.

Flowmon Networks implemented Flowmon Collector as a virtual appliance for VMware to collect, store, and analyze NetFlow and sFlow data from the company’s network. The solution gave AVE CZ detailed historical and real-time visibility, automatic reporting, and alert notifications, helping uncover issues such as faulty software update traffic and print server communication errors. As a result, AVE CZ reduced network load, especially on its MPLS links, and saved thousands of euros each month while planning to extend the Flowmon Networks deployment into its virtual environment.
