Aspire Technology Solutions, an award-winning managed services provider, was facing repeated large volumetric DDoS attacks against both its own network and customer networks. The attacks were disruptive and time consuming to handle manually, sometimes taking up to an hour to fully mitigate, while also impacting other customers’ traffic. Aspire turned to Flowmon Networks and its Flowmon Collector 2000 VA and Flowmon DDoS Defender 10Gbps for faster detection and response.

Flowmon Networks deployed a solution that used NetFlow visibility, learning baselines, and automated BGP/FlowSpec-based mitigation to identify attack targets and blackhole malicious traffic at the network edge. In one live incident, mitigation time dropped from about an hour to just minutes, and after enabling automatic mitigation, future attacks were stopped in about 30 seconds. Aspire reported no false positives, improved network insight, and more useful customer reporting.
