First ever local authority electric vehicle charge point project in Wokingham Borough Council

Wokingham Borough Council sought an integrated solution to support both parking and electric vehicle charging transactions through a single, unified platform. To meet this need, they partnered with Flowbird to implement their new EV infrastructure.

Flowbird installed and funded 44 AC EV chargers across 20 locations, integrating them with existing parking terminals. This created the UK's first local authority park-and-charge solution, allowing users to pay for both services in one step via the Flowbird app. The project enabled the council to grow its EV network without utilizing its own funds, while offering residents and visitors unparalleled convenience and effortless payment.
