Recreational Services makes Christchurch parks greener with data automation

Recreational Services, a family‑owned “parks people” business with over 450 staff, won a Christchurch City Council contract that required B2B integration between its proprietary MENZIT management system and the Council’s SAP ERP. To automate documentation, eliminate manual email forms and improve visibility of jobs and assets, Recreational Services engaged Flow Software to provide the integration technology and expertise (a web service API).

Flow Software built a web service API that exposed MENZIT data and exchanged Jobs, Claims, Reference and Asset records with the Council, integrating directly into MENZIT’s SQL backend. The integration—delivered in about two to three months—removed manual form‑filling and double data entry, sped up task assignment and electronic job verification, and enabled on‑demand work‑in‑progress reporting. As a result, Flow Software’s solution eliminated email back‑and‑forth, saved staff time and improved operational visibility, and Recreational Services is now exploring offering this digital capability to other clients.
