Independent Egg Producers’ EDI Upgrade flows smoothly

Independent Egg Producers is a nationwide New Zealand co‑operative of 16 egg farms supplying retailers and food service customers such as Foodstuffs and McDonald’s. Faced with Foodstuffs’ requirement to process orders and invoices electronically and the need to integrate head‑office financials with 15 different farm accounting systems without disrupting farm operations, Independent Egg Producers selected Flow Software to deliver an EDI solution, working alongside Datagration’s deployment of MYOB EXO Business.

Flow Software implemented its middleware EDI platform to link EXO Business with each member farm’s accounting systems, enabling roughly 100 invoices to be sent electronically each day to Foodstuffs’ three regional offices. The new solution cut administration and paper costs, reduced invoice errors, sped up payments and improved cashflow, and delivered actionable reporting (daily farm statements, weekly outstanding statements and regional outstanding reports), while Flow Software’s integration also allowed CSV remittance imports to replace manual data retrieval.
