CDB, New Zealand’s largest importer and marketer of electrical accessories, faced the challenge of running one of the country’s busiest distribution centres—1,400 line items on 10,000 pallets shipping about 250 orders a day—while meeting customer EDI requirements from partners like Mitre 10 and Countdown. To modernize and integrate its systems around its existing Exonet accounting and WMS, CDB chose Flow Software for EDI and middleware integration.

Flow Software implemented phased middleware and EDI integration between Exonet, the WMS and external trading partners, automating order flow, paperwork generation (including dangerous-goods notices) and exception alerts. The solution let orders pass electronically straight to warehouse pick guns and handle diverse customer documentation rules automatically, enabling CDB to ship ~250 orders per day with just six full‑time warehouse staff and maintain accurate stock across 1,400 SKUs—delivering clear efficiency and scalability gains.
