Group 1, the UK arm of a global automotive retailer with 250+ dealerships, 100+ UK locations and over £4bn in annual revenue, faced a complex transatlantic month‑end Close. Rapid growth, US SOX control requirements and a predominantly manual process—relying on spreadsheets, printed PDFs and one‑by‑one signoffs—created inefficiencies and intense pressure on the accounting team.
After a pilot (Oct–Dec 2022) and full UK launch in Jan 2023, Group 1 implemented FloQast to replace manual workflows with cloud‑based checklists, integrations (Teams, OneDrive), and an Ops dashboard that centralised visibility and automated audit retrievals. The new approach simplified and sped up Close workflows, gave managers a clear global month‑end overview, and improved accountants’ workload and work‑life balance.
