Dierbergs Markets solves a $20K ORC theft case with Flock Safety

Dierbergs Markets, a family-owned supermarket chain, faced significant challenges with organized retail crime (ORC) and theft, including a repeat offender responsible for over $20,000 in stolen liquor. Unable to identify the suspect, their Director of Loss Prevention turned to vendor Flock Safety for a solution using its license plate recognition (LPR) cameras.

By deploying Flock Safety's LPR cameras at three locations, Dierbergs was able to capture the suspect's vehicle information and provide it to police, leading to an arrest. The solution helped solve that initial case and led to the recovery of over ten stolen vehicles. The cameras also enhanced employee safety and strengthened collaboration with law enforcement, prompting Dierbergs to plan a company-wide expansion of the Flock Safety system.
