International Medical Corps Improves Tracking Accuracy of Medical Supplies by 20%

International Medical Corps, a global first responder delivering emergency relief in conflict zones, disasters, and disease outbreaks, faced the challenge of keeping a complex supply chain moving across 28 countries. With urgent needs for medical supplies, PPE, and field equipment, the nonprofit needed better visibility, customs support, and faster replenishment. Flexport’s freight forwarding and logistics platform helped streamline these operations.

Flexport implemented live shipment tracking, customs expertise, exception management, and shipping support through its Frontline Responders Fund. As a result, International Medical Corps improved shipment tracking accuracy by about 21%, reduced time spent chasing updates by up to 15%, and quickly cleared delays such as a $15,800 shipment that resumed movement within 24 hours. Flexport also covered shipping for donated goods, freeing about $160,000 for additional PPE and medical equipment for more than 20 hospitals and 40 long-term care facilities.
