RR Donnelley, one of North America’s largest integrated communications and printed document providers, needed to support highly automated print workflows across a mixed IT environment that included IBM mainframe, Solaris, Linux, Windows, and VMware systems. To keep print jobs, customer reporting, and billing running smoothly, the company turned to FlexITy Solutions for help modernizing its aging storage infrastructure and improving scalability.

FlexITy Solutions implemented an Hitachi Data Systems USP-VM with an AMS200, along with supporting Cisco networking, blade servers, HDS SAN storage, and APC rack solutions. The new virtualized storage platform improved data migration from legacy systems, increased storage utilization, and gave RR Donnelley more flexibility to grow without adding excessive hardware, helping lower total cost of ownership and support future expansion.
