Case Study: The Royal Society achieves streamlined, efficient grant management with Flexigrant (Flexi-Grant®)

The Royal Society, the UK’s independent national academy of science, was managing grants on a dated in‑house system that was costly to extend, hard to maintain as staff left, and hampered by non‑standardised workflows across teams. Seeking to increase grant spending while improving efficiency, The Royal Society selected Flexi‑Grant® from Flexigrant as their new grant management platform and partner to standardise processes and manage the transition.

Flexigrant implemented Flexi‑Grant®, working with Grants, Finance and IT teams to map standardised workflows, run targeted change management and training, manage a phased data migration and provide extra technical resource where needed. The solution automated many manual administrative and reporting tasks, enabled metrics on application and review times, improved accuracy and efficiency, and gave the Society “a greater degree of flexibility and control” over the grant lifecycle.
