MQ Transforming Mental Health is a London-based charity funding scientific research into mental illness that needed to simplify a complex, time-consuming grant application and multi‑round review process while meeting new data protection requirements. To address this, MQ implemented Flexi‑Grant® from Flexigrant in 2015 to manage applications, reviewers and communications.

Flexigrant configured Flexi‑Grant® with customizable workflows, a dedicated Reviewer Portal, opt‑in controls and the Query & Export tool to streamline a four‑stage review cycle, eliminate paperwork and make reporting and data‑protection compliance straightforward. As a result, MQ has awarded over 30 research projects and pledged more than £6m in funding, now handles about 150 applications a year across four schemes with an eight‑person grants team, and benefits from faster reviews and simpler end‑of‑year reporting.
