Turner Broadcasting migrates to AWS in 5 months with Flexera

Turner Broadcasting System, a major global media company, sought to shift its core business to digital content distribution by migrating from on-premises infrastructure to the cloud. The challenge was their lack of metrics and detailed knowledge of their own IT environment, which made creating a migration plan for Amazon Web Services (AWS) extremely difficult. They turned to vendor Flexera, who was recommended by AWS, to use its cloud migration solution to gain critical insight.

Flexera's solution provided a comprehensive scan of Turner's infrastructure, which uncovered nearly 1,000 idle servers that were immediately retired. This scan gave Turner the detailed understanding needed to formulate and execute a fast migration plan. As a result, Flexera enabled Turner to migrate its first workloads to AWS in less than six months, moving from knowing almost nothing about their infrastructure to having a complete map of their applications and devices.
