Flexera Powers Monetization of PTC’s ThingWorx IoT Platform

ThingWorx, PTC’s industrial IoT and AR platform, was rapidly expanding its partner and customer ecosystem and needed a robust, flexible monetization and compliance solution. PTC required a system to manage subscriptions, track devices/users/API calls as billing metrics, provision licenses securely across multiple servers, and standardize entitlement and subscription processes across other products like Windchill.

PTC implemented Flexera’s Monetization Platform—using FlexNet Operations for entitlement back office, FlexNet Embedded for licensing, and the Flexera Integration Framework to connect existing workflows. The out-of-the-box solution met PTC’s requirements with zero business downtime, enabling automated subscriptions and renewals, better customer and usage insights, scalable SaaS support, and an ongoing migration away from home-grown tools for a more unified monetization strategy.
