Convey Computer Facilitates delivery of innovative hybrid-core systems with granular, adaptive and transparent licensing of high-value IP

Convey Computer delivers hybrid-core servers that combine commodity x86 processors with reconfigurable FPGAs to accelerate compute‑intensive applications (from bio‑informatics to financial modeling). Their challenge was to cost‑effectively protect two kinds of high‑value IP—the FPGA "personalities" (bitfiles) and development SDKs—while letting customers easily trial, deploy and scale features across machines and over time.

By adopting FlexNet Licensing, Convey ships a single complete system and SDK and selectively enables or restricts features through granular, time‑ and machine‑based entitlements (including floating licenses and trial periods). This reduced manufacturing complexity and misconfiguration risk, made upgrades and cross‑sells simple, and ensured transparent, adaptive protection and compensation for Convey’s IP while improving customer flexibility and deployment speed.
