Auckland University of Technology Gets Complete Patch Management with Secunia Corporate Software Inspector

Auckland University of Technology (AUT), a New Zealand university serving over 26,000 students across three campuses, relied on a diverse, innovation-driven IT estate with many third‑party applications across Windows, Mac and Linux. Patching was done ad hoc via SCCM, leaving the university without complete visibility or a way to prioritize and centrally manage third‑party vulnerabilities alongside existing Microsoft updates (SCCM/WSUS).

AUT implemented Secunia Corporate Software Inspector (CSI), a cloud‑based solution with SCCM and WSUS integration, cross‑platform scanning, and the Secunia Package System (SPS) for streamlined packaging and deployment. The CSI dashboard and expert vulnerability intelligence improved prioritization and gave AUT faster, centralized patching—allowing updates to be deployed on the same cycle as Microsoft patches and enabling quicker responses outside that cycle.
