Pivotree, a managed services provider for frictionless commerce experiences, was struggling with poor visibility into cloud costs for itself and its customers while also trying to optimize savings on AWS EC2 and RDS reserved commitments. To improve cost management at scale, Pivotree turned to Flexera and its CloudCheckr platform, along with Flexera One Cloud Commitment Management, to replace an underperforming billing tool and gain reseller-focused FinOps capabilities.

Flexera helped Pivotree automate AWS cost imports, apply custom charges, improve chargeback/showback reporting, and better manage reserved commitments using tailored purchasing strategies and machine learning. The result was automated, accurate billing for customers, optimized EC2 and RDS commitments, and less time spent managing Reserved Instances, enabling greater savings and efficiency across Pivotree’s FinOps operations.
