Recovery Cloud Helps Minimize Disruption

Virginia United Methodist Homes (VUMH) is a not‑for‑profit that operates seven continuing care and assisted‑living communities across Virginia. With staff at multiple locations accessing residents’ electronic medical records, the three‑person IT team needed a redundant, HIPAA‑compliant disaster recovery solution that would keep critical systems running during outages — a requirement that became urgent when the organization planned a relocation of its central offices and production IT systems.

VUMH deployed the Peak 10 Recovery Cloud (DRaaS), which provides continuous data protection, rapid failover, testing and HIPAA‑focused compliance support without changing the existing environment. Peak 10 handled configuration and testing; VUMH failed over to Peak 10 in minutes during the move, ran on the service for nearly two weeks with no disruption, then failed back to the new site. The result was rapid recovery, improved security and redundancy, minimized disruption, and maintained HIPAA compliance.
