Lonestar taps Flexential expertise to launch the first commercial data center in space

LoneStar, a space technology company building the first commercial data center on the lunar surface, needed a secure partner to support the terrestrial side of its business and enable fast, secure access to space-stored data. To do that, LoneStar chose Flexential for colocation, interconnection, and data protection services to handle mission-critical ground-based operations, backup, and disaster recovery.

Flexential implemented a custom colocation solution in its Tampa, Florida data center, linked to LoneStar’s mission control in St. Petersburg, with scalable nationwide connectivity and sustainable infrastructure. The result was a seamless launch of LoneStar’s ground operations, rapid and secure data transfer between Earth and space, and the flexibility to expand as the business grows, while allowing LoneStar to stay focused on its lunar infrastructure mission.
