A Flexential Case Study
Quantix, founded in 1969 and the nation’s largest transporter of plastic resins, operates a nationwide fleet and network of terminals that rely on always-on IT to keep 750 drivers and customers moving. When catastrophic, unexplained power failures struck Quantix’s Chicago-area data center, the company needed to fail over its production environment immediately to avoid delivery delays that could halt customer manufacturing operations.
Flexential rapidly replicated 14 TB of data to its DRaaS platform, recreated Quantix’s production environment in a Louisville colocation (even transporting and installing servers over a weekend), and deployed permanent disaster recovery in Atlanta. Within five weeks the data center was fully replicated and, six months after the incident, Quantix had migrated to a hybrid cloud/colocation model with equal-or-better performance and uninterrupted service — gaining an ongoing partner for colocation and data protection.
