Bringing circular manufacturing to electronics with Sinctronics

Sinctronics, founded by Flex, set out to tackle the growing problem of electronic waste in Brazil by creating the country’s first integrated circular-manufacturing ecosystem. Faced with high reverse-logistics costs and limited local recycling infrastructure, Sinctronics — leveraging Flex’s design, engineering and supply-chain expertise — built capabilities across reverse logistics, recycling facilities and a Green IT Innovation Center to collect, refurbish and re-manufacture electronic components and plastics.

With Flex’s support, Sinctronics implemented optimized reverse logistics and in-house recycling processes that cut client costs by up to 30% and sped material collection by 50%. The program returns 97% of recovered material to the supply chain, achieves up to 82% energy and greenhouse-gas savings for recycled plastics, and has helped customers replace an average of 20% of virgin plastic with recycled material — demonstrating measurable environmental and economic impact driven by Flex and Sinctronics’ circular approach.
