Mentoring young engineers to design and build Formula Student electric race car

Esslingen University enlisted Flex to mentor its E.Stall Formula Student team as they designed and built an electric racecar for the international Formula Student competition. Flex provided hands-on engineering support and training—including EMC basics, PCB layout and component arrangement—leveraging its Sketch-to-Scale design and manufacturing expertise.

Flex’s engineers optimized printed circuit board layouts, advised on safety and conductor tracks, and ran EMC training sessions that strengthened the team’s technical design. The E.Stall car reached the Hockenheim finals—part of an event with about 10,000 attendees and 118 teams from 25+ countries—and will continue to race across Europe, visibly showcasing Flex’s contribution and helping attract future automotive engineers.
