A Fleksy Case Study
Essential Products Inc. needed a new input method for its upcoming GEM device, a long and narrow smartphone designed for one-handed use. The standard software keyboard was not comfortable on the elongated screen, so the company turned to Fleksy for a custom typing solution.
Fleksy built a tailored keyboard layout and adapted its next-word prediction and autocorrect engines so taps would better match GEM’s unique screen geometry. The result was an ergonomic, one-thumb typing experience with improved typing accuracy for Essential’s novel device, helping make the form factor practical to use.
