Case Study: Eikenhout achieves compliance, proactive maintenance and cost savings with Fleetio

A Fleetio Case Study

Preview of the Eikenhout Case Study

Building products distributor relies on Fleetio to stay compliant and effectively manage its dispersed fleet assets

Eikenhout Inc., a Michigan building-products distributor with nine locations, relied on a mixed fleet of trucks, trailers and specialized equipment to deliver customer service but faced challenges with dispersed assets, regulatory inspections, inefficient spreadsheet-based tracking and a reactive maintenance approach. The company needed better visibility, streamlined compliance and a way to control costs across more than 160 assets.

By deploying Fleetio and its mobile Fleetio Go app, Eikenhout consolidated vehicle and equipment records, added digital DVIR inspection forms, implemented configurable preventive‑maintenance schedules and integrated fuel and expense tracking. The result: spreadsheets were eliminated, inspections and failures trigger immediate notifications, managers run quick lifetime-cost and MPG comparisons to spot expensive assets, and proactive maintenance scheduling reduced downtime while improving regulatory compliance.
