Leading Renewable Energy Product Development Provider, a US-based renewable energy product development company supporting solar and wind energy operations, needed offshore engineering support for detailing, drafting, 3D modeling, and finite element analysis of a prototype hub crane. The challenge was to convert rough sketches and dimensions into accurate fabrication drawings, 3D models, and stress analysis outputs while meeting strict stress and quality requirements.

Flatworld Solutions used SolidWorks 2012 to create the 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models, then performed ANSYS stress analysis after client approval. When the first analysis fell short, Flatworld Solutions redesigned the lifting tool with welded reinforcement plates and completed a second analysis that met the required 83.3 N/mm2 stress target.
