Customized Design Solutions Provider, a Massachusetts-based company specializing in customized interior engineering and modular kitchen systems, needed support for a large turn-key project covering 2,100 U.S. hotels. The challenge was to model new kitchen standards and equipment while ensuring the latest equipment would fit and adapting the designs to three standard layouts. Flatworld Solutions provided SketchUp modeling services to help address these requirements.

Flatworld Solutions assembled a team of 14 modelers, along with an operations manager and quality analyst, and used SketchUp, Trimble, LayOut, and InDesign to create and deliver the kitchen layouts. The team was trained on the three standard layouts, and each kitchen took about eight hours to fully model. Flatworld Solutions helped the client produce accurate, presentation-ready designs that supported large-scale interior design changes across thousands of hotel kitchens.
