A Flashpoint Case Study
The customer JCRC-NY, through its Community Security Initiative (CSI), faced the challenge of protecting over 2,000 Jewish institutions in the New York area from a rising tide of antisemitic violence. Their key difficulty was discerning credible, imminent threats from the vast amount of hateful online chatter. To address this, they turned to vendor Flashpoint for its social media intelligence and physical threat intelligence capabilities, specifically leveraging the Echosec platform.
By using Flashpoint's real-time alerting and its extensive collections from illicit forums and social media, the CSI team identified a specific, viable threat from an individual threatening to "shoot up a synagogue." This intelligence, provided by Flashpoint, was immediately escalated to law enforcement, leading to the arrest of two individuals at Penn Station who were armed with a firearm, a knife, and a swastika armband. This successful intervention directly thwarted a potential attack, demonstrating the measurable impact of the solution.
