Effectual helps Ginnie Mae migrate to AWS GovCloud, uses FlashGrid Cluster for database high availability

Ginnie Mae, a U.S. Government corporation within HUD, needed to migrate its critical Oracle database application to AWS GovCloud without making any code changes while meeting a strict uptime SLA. The challenge was achieving high availability for an application incompatible with Amazon RDS. Partnering with AWS consultancy Effectual, they turned to FlashGrid for a solution to enable Oracle RAC on AWS.

FlashGrid provided its FlashGrid Cluster solution to implement a fully automated, lift-and-shift of Oracle RAC onto AWS EC2. This provided the required active-active high availability, met all compliance requirements, and allowed deployment in under two hours using Infrastructure-as-Code. For Ginnie Mae, the solution with FlashGrid and Effectual resulted in a successful, on-time migration that modernized their infrastructure, minimized risk, and provided a robust foundation for future innovation.
